​The BTEC L3 Subsidiary Diploma is made up of 5 units, with a combination of core (mandatory) and specialist units that give a total of 360 credits. 

Minimum of 4 I/GCSEs at grade A*-C or equivalent. Students will need to have a good level of numeracy with a good standard of written communication skills. 

All units will be internally assessed using a variety of methods such as case studies, investigative and project-based assignments, presentations, speakers, plus visits to businesses and work placements. Units will be individually graded as pass, merit and distinction. Distinction* can be achieved if enough points are gathered across the units. 

Studying business allows students to develop a broad and balanced set of employability skills such as teamwork, leadership, communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking. The quantitative elements of the course allow students to apply their numeracy skills to practical situations whilst also improving their literacy through written coursework. Students will also have opportunities to present their work through a wide range of different methods, allowing them to harness their creativity through a variety of different media types.

Students often go on to study related degrees such as Business Management, International Business, Finance, Accounting or Marketing. Many WIS Business Alumni have then gone on to secure successful careers in industries such as banking, finance, accounting, management consultancy and law.
